The ECMM has established biennial one day educational events (Workshops) that take place between the TIMM meetings and are generally in conjunction with other scientific meetings. The 1^st Workshop was held in 2008 in Istanbul, Turkey with the IUMS Congress.

The 2^nd  workshop took place September 25, 2010 in Milan, Italy, following the two day (September 23- 24) 10^th Congress of Italian Society of Mycologists (FIMUA). 

The Congress of the International Union of Microbiology Societies was held in Instanbul, Turkey, on August 5-15, 2008. IUMS-2008 unified the International Congress of Bacteriology and Applied Microbiology (5-9 August 2008), XII International Congress of Mycology (5-9 August 2008) and XIV Congress of Virology (10-15 August 2008).
ECMM events during IUMS-2008 included 1 symposium, 2 sessions of Working Groups, and ECMM Council meeting.

Trends in Medical Mycology (TIMM) is the bi-annual joint meeting of ECMM and EORTC. TIMM-4 was held in Athens, Greece, on October 18-21, 2009.
